Chip Cooper
Chip Cooper joined Cimarron in 2006 as a portfolio manager attached to the Iowa Fund of Funds. He specializes in venture fund analysis, entrepreneurial development, and marketing. Chip previously worked at VML, a full-service advertising and marketing agency.
From 1990 to 2004, Chip served as consultant, board member and investor to many technology-based start-ups in his capacity as Executive Director of the Missouri Innovation Center (MIC). At MIC he focused on catalyzing the emergence of an angel investor community and transforming the university culture, making it open to entrepreneurial endeavors by faculty.
In 2000, Chip led the effort to create Missouri’s first seed capital fund dedicated to financing new life sciences companies. Chip was a founding director of the National Association of Seed and Venture Funds in 1997 and served as an officer until 2003, where he helped launch the Association’s highly regarded angel investor training program.
He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and a recipient of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Contributions to Small Business Award. Chip resides in Columbia, Missouri.
