Christina Kappaz


Christina Kappaz has worked with Cimarron as a consultant since 2002 and joined our team as a full time Associate in 2009. She focuses on fund due diligence and the Latin American market. Christina has over ten years experience in venture capital, private equity, small business development, and workforce training.

Since 2001, Christina served as a managing partner with Millennia Consulting, an international consulting firm.

In 2004, Christina coordinated a team of professionals providing technical assistance to the US/Mexico Task Force on Venture Capital in Mexico, under the direction of Nacional Financiera and with funding from U.S. Trade and Development Agency, in order to develop a reform package and action plan for developing the venture capital industry in Mexico.

Christina coordinated Cimarron’s advisory work with Nacional Financiera in 2006 on the design of a US$450 million fund of funds program for Mexico. Cimarron's analysis and design recommendations covered the organizational structure, investment policies and procedures of the Mexico Fund of Funds in light of international best practices.

Christina served as the first Executive Director and the immediate past President of the Latin American Venture Capital Association (LAVCA). She has worked at the World Bank on private sector development programs and the Inter-American Development Bank on labor market development.

Christina is fluent in Spanish. She holds both an MBA and a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University. Her B.A. in Government is from Dartmouth College. Christina lives with her family near Bogotá, Colombia.
