Philip B. Heard

Philip B. Heard, MD, PhD, joined Cimarron as a Portfolio Manager in September 2008 to support the team in its investments in cleantech funds. Philip's career has been devoted to environmental and public health and he brings these interests to venture fund investing.

Philip's recent experience includes 8 years as the Health Advisor for the Maryland Department of the Environment, where he employed an extensive knowledge of environmental health to back the agency in its regulatory actions, policy development, public response, and multi-agency coordination. He served as a mentor to residents in General Preventive Medicine throughout this period.

Philip is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University (residency in General Preventive Medicine), the University of Oklahoma (medical degree), and the University of Notre Dame (Ph.D. in the ecology and epidemiology of arthropodborne viruses). Philip lives and keeps his office in Baltimore County, Maryland.
